Into the woods

So this is my papercut "Into the Woods" it is about one of my favourite places which are the woods on the South Downs where I live.

I started looking into the names of trees in Britain to put into the work, which in turn sent me on a long hunt for a definitive list of indigenous trees, which proved a lot more complicated than I thought!

In the end I had to make a choice, which you may or may not agree with, and I think some extra names slipped in just because I liked them!

This piece has won first prize in the Senior Category of the Fusion and Kent College Art Competition.
